How do you handle stress and fear?

The winds were whipping up the waves on the Sea of Galilee. The experienced fishermen, along with others on the boat, were doing their best to keep their vessel afloat. But the storm got stronger and stronger till it seemed certain they were going to sink and drown.

Amazingly, Jesus was sleeping in the back of the boat after a long and tiring day helping people. They cried out to Him,

“‘Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?’ Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

“But He said to them, ‘Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?’”

How could Jesus say this? They thought for sure they were going to die. Did He mean it?

What enabled Him to live by faith, rather than by fear?
